Background of the Study
The informal sector plays a crucial role in the economy of Konduga LGA, contributing significantly to employment and income generation. However, taxing the informal sector remains a contentious issue due to the sector's unregulated nature and its operators’ resistance to formal taxation. Informal sector taxation has the potential to boost local revenue generation if properly implemented.

The informal sector in Konduga LGA is characterized by micro-businesses, subsistence traders, and artisans. However, the absence of robust policies and enforcement mechanisms limits the government’s ability to harness revenue from this sector. This study examines the impact of informal sector taxation on revenue generation in Konduga LGA, focusing on the challenges and benefits of integrating the informal sector into the tax net.
